The Influence of Perception of Social Responsibility and Employment Cost on Employment Satisfaction in Companies Employing Persons with Disabilities : The Moderating Effects of Education for Disability Awareness in the Workplace

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the company¡¯s perception of social responsibility and employment cost on employment satisfaction in companies employing persons with disabilities and to verify the moderating effects of education for disability awareness in the workplace. Using data from a total of 4,969 companies employing persons with disabilities extracted from ¡®2021 Survey on Employment Status of the Disabled in Companies,¡¯ a multiple regression analysis was conducted. The result of the analysis is as follows. First, in the analysis of the influence of control variables, it was found that the employment satisfaction of the disabled was relatively higher in companies located in the Seoul Metropolitan Region and those with 100 or more full-time workers. Second. the stronger the perception of social responsibility, the higher the employment satisfaction, and the more negative the perception of employment cost, the lower the employment satisfaction.
Third, the employment satisfaction level of companies that provided awareness improvement training for the disabled in the workplace was higher than that of companies that did not. Fourth, in the relationship between perception of employment cost and employment satisfaction, there was the moderating effects of disability awareness education in the workplace. Based on the results of the analysis, suggestions for improvement were made which includes promotion strategies to strengthen perception of social responsibility, reinforcing education contents to improve positive awareness of employment costs, increasing the participation rate of education for disability awareness in the workplace, and developing education performance indicators.
